How: Implementing the Solution
The organization, funded and licensed by the US Federal Government to operate Head Start programs across four states, required a robust Data Integration Platform to automate and streamline their data-driven tools and equity-centered approach. The platform needed to integrate various sources of information from different systems, including Excels, APIs, and other data sources, while ensuring data cleaning, analysis, and presentation in a cohesive format. The primary goal was to create a common platform to compare data between their Third Party Evaluation Systems (ELS, e-DECA, TSG), alongside teacher attributes from Human Resource Management System Workday and Foundational Teaching Practices (FTP), as well as family attributes from the Head Start centers.
To address these requirements, we implemented the solution using Apache Camel for integrating with different sources and a common database using SQL Server. The user interface was developed with React, Node.js, and Highcharts, providing an intuitive and visually appealing way to present the integrated data.
