A prominent Global Capability Centre faced challenges with fragmented resume management across various platforms, making it difficult to track, process, and manage candidate information. To resolve this, Neviton Technologies implemented a centralized web application using Generative AI to automate resume extraction, classification, and real-time status updates. This innovative system not only consolidates resumes in a single, accessible platform but also streamlines the recruitment process with advanced AI-powered analysis and tracking capabilities.
Why: Understanding the Need
A prominent Global Capability Centre, known for its diverse capabilities and commitment to customer centricity, faced significant challenges with their recruitment process. Candidate resumes were scattered across various platforms like Darwinbox and individual devices, complicating the tracking and management of different resumes and their statuses. This fragmentation also impacted the efficiency of processing resumes from job portals and the company website. To address these issues, the client aimed to create a centralized web application that would consolidate all candidate resumes and provide real-time status updates. By integrating Generative AI, specifically a smart Language Learning Model (LLM), the new system would intelligently extract details from resumes upon upload, significantly streamlining and enhancing the recruitment process. This initiative reflects the client’s commitment to leveraging innovative technology to overcome operational challenges and deliver excellence.
How: Implementing the Solution
We designed and developed an innovative web application to transform the recruitment process, ensuring universal accessibility and effective resume processing. Built using robust AWS web technologies, specifically Node.js and React.js, the application features a responsive design accessible from any handheld device through a browser. The solution integrates seamlessly with job portals and the company’s career page, providing detailed dashboards and reports for enhanced visibility. It includes a centralized cloud-based repository where all resumes are stored in a single, easily accessible location, simplifying management and tracking. Generative AI powers an automated analysis mechanism to extract key candidate information, including skills and experience. Users can quickly find relevant candidates with a keyword-based search and refine their search with advanced filters. The system also allows efficient management of resume statuses based on interview results, such as Accept or Reject, and ensures a comprehensive and unified database by migrating resumes from the existing Darwinbox tool to the new global repository.
This solution extensively uses the AWS resources like AWS Cognito for SSO authentication , AWS S3 buckets to store all the uploaded candidates resumes as well as ReactJS frontend code files, AWS Lambda to store NodeJS file containing application business logic, AWS EC2 instance to keep the Machine learning model up and running for resume parsing, AWS RDS to store the resume parsing result along with the link to AWS S3 bucket for that particular resume stored, AWS VPC to restrict the access to Client network, AWS API Gateway to access the AWS Lambda as well as providing the application data to 3rd party application with proper access token and AWS CloudFront as application content delivery network service.
The complete development of this solution executed with Agile development methodology where AWS CI/CD services like AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeDeploy are used to achieve the development objectives.
System Features and Capabilities
Portal Administration
The system supports user and role management, allowing for the registration and configuration of business units, creation of roles with varying access levels, and secure access control based on user IDs. Administrators can also define business rules, company preferences, and manage group company credentials.
Resume Collection
After logging in, users access a role-based dashboard displaying key metrics like candidate status. Resumes can be uploaded from various sources, with an AI/ML module extracting and updating key information. Resumes are stored in their original formats in the cloud, with the system managing duplicates by updating or archiving as needed.
Resume Processing
The system employs data mining and algorithms to process and classify essential information from resumes. It checks for completeness, flags low-resolution or incomplete resumes for HR review, and integrates user corrections into the ML learning process for improved accuracy.
